Modeling and optimization of radish root extract drying as peroxidase source using spouted bed dryer

Abstract The main advantages of the dried enzymes are lower cost storage and longer time preservation for industrial applications. In this study, spouted bed dryer was utilized drying garden radish ( Raphanus sativus L.) root extract as a cost-effective source peroxidase enzyme. response surface methodology (RSM) used to evaluate individual interactive effects parameters (the inlet air temperature (T) ratio flow rate minimum spouting (Q)) on residual enzyme activity (REA). maximum REA 38.7% obtained at T = 50 °C Q 1.4. To investigate effect catalytic activity, optimum reaction conditions (pH temperature), well kinetic parameters, were investigated fresh extracts (FEE DEE). results showed that pH DEE decreased by 12.3% compared FEE, while FEE increased factor 85.7%.
